The universal sign of a spayed/neutered feral cat is an "ear tip" on the left ear. When the veterinarian has the cat asleep for the spaying/neutering, they cut the tip end of the left ear straight across. This lets you know from a distance that particular cat has been fixed.
Many thanks to Tom Wargo from the SOS Club. He did a great job at the beginning of our program helping us with our cats and teaching us to trap.
