Big Daddy is thought to have fathered some of Calico Mama's kittens. He used to be considered an "occasional" with our colony, but after he was neutered in October 2012, he became a "regular". Bless his little kitty heart..he looked rough. He turned out to be a very sweet kitty and would let us pet him if we moved really slow.
By early December, he was docile enough for us to pick him up and take him to the vet for some much needed care. He had been outdoors on his own for a long time.
Patches
Patches first appeared in January of 2013. He loved to sleep in one of the shelters in the back yard.
He never allowed anyone to get close to him, and when we trapped him in a drop trap on the patio in the wee hours of the night, he was a very upset boy! Once neutered, Patches stayed in the back, and got along fine with the other cats.
Sometime in the summer of 2014, he disappeared and we haven't seen him since.
Cosmo
Cosmo was a beautiful male cat that was first seen in the back of the hospital. Sometime later he moved to the front garage. We saw him off and on for about a year before we were able to trap him in 2014.
Sadly, Cosmo died at Planned Pethood during the surgery to neuter him. The vet asked to do a necropsy, and it was determined he had cardiomegaly.
We buried Cosmo in the woods behind the hospital where we first saw him.
Shadow
Shadow is a solid black short haired cat. He was trapped and neutered in October 2012.
After he was neutered, he became very elusive, and only came out of the woods to eat. The last time we saw him was sometime in early 2014.
Orange and White Kitty
This beautiful boy was trapped in November 2011 behind the Ocie Pope building (when it was still standing). After he was released, he disappeared.
In February 2014, a hospital employee took pictures of an unfamiliar orange and white cat with a tipped ear who turned out to be this one. After two weeks, he disappeared and has not been seen since.
Yoda
Yoda was a solid black, short haired cat. His distinguishing characteristic was his right ear which pointed out instead of up. He was trapped and neutered in October 2012.
The vet said his ear canal was thickened on that side, probably from an old injury, which makes it point to the right.
He used to stay in the back of the hospital, then at some point moved to the front garage. We haven't seen him since 2013.
Most of his teeth were either broken off or missing, and his right ear was permanently fixed to the side because of a prior injury. Unfortunately, by the end of December, he was gone and we never saw him again.
Buddy
Buddy was a very friendly cat who showed up on the sidewalk by the cafeteria patio in July/August 2013.
He looked like he had been in some fights, but he was not a feral cat. He purred and allowed people to pet him and even pick him up. We easily trapped him, had him neutered, and returned him to the sidewalk.
He stayed around for several weeks, and then disappeared.
Phoenix
Phoenix was a beautiful orange tabby with medium long hair. He and Mr. Vogue were brothers, born in early 2011. One of our volunteers reported seeing Phoenix with respiratory/sinus issues a few days before he disappeared in mid 2011.
Happy
Happy was a solid grey kitty who was also trapped behind the Ocie Pope building. He disappeared after release, then showed up in the front garage after some time. He was frequently seen with Grumpy, which is how he got his name!
Unfortunately, Happy became very thin. We were unable to retrap him, or get close enough to capture him in a net. He disappeared in November 2015.
